Daniel Dubois targets Lennox Lewis legacy as he looks to reach his full potential

DANIEL DUBOIS believes he is entering the defining stage of his career as he targets a legacy alongside Britain’s heavyweight greats.

The 29-year-old is already a two-time world champion, with wins over Anthony Joshua, Filip Hrgovic, Jarrell Miller and Fabio Wardley.

After defeats to Joe Joyce and Oleksandr Usyk, Dubois feels the experience has helped him develop and believes there is still more to come.

Ahead of his rematch with Wardley, he said: “There is so much more to come. I’m at the top of my game – and I can only get better.

“I just really want to find out how good I am. I want to find out what might just be hidden inside me.”

Dubois is also aiming to follow in the footsteps of Lennox Lewis.

“How long did Lennox Lewis and those guys hold the world titles for? I’ve got to try to match that,” he said.

The Londoner believes years of hard work are finally coming together.

“I’ve put in the years of hard work, I’ve now got years of experience.

“I feel like it’s all coming together now – and I just need to show it.”

Dubois has also refused to be drawn into Wardley’s mind games.

“I don’t bite easily on anything,” he said.

“I want to collect belts and titles, that’s all I am focused on right now.”
