“The main card literally has a former champion or champion in every single fight […] Each one of the prelims is worthy of being its own separate main event, and people are crying.”

Jake Paul to undergo huge body transformation for Mike Tyson fight by revealing he will look to put over ONE STONE

Not only will it mark Netflix’s first move into live boxing but it will also be Paul’s first fight at heavyweight.

The lightest the American, 27, has weighed is 183.6lb (13st 1lb) but his last two bouts have been at the 200lb cruiserweight limit of 14st 4lb.

Whereas Tyson was a career heavyweight at 15st 7lb, meaning Paul must pile on the pounds to match that.

During a stream with Adin Ross, he revealed his target weight for the bout will be the same 220lb mark of 15st 7lb.

That means having to put on over a stone in weight from now till the time he gets in the ring with boxing’s most feared fighter.

Tyson, 57, retired in 2005 only to return in 2020 for an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr, which ended in an eight-round draw.

Meanwhile Paul is 9-1 as a boxer and suffered his only defeat to Tommy Fury, 24, in February 2023 but he has won three since.

Exact rules and regulations of his mega-fight with Tyson, likes rounds and whether it will be professionally sanctioned or not are yet to be released.

But Paul’s business partner and Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian confirmed headguards will NOT be worn.

Bidarian posted on Instagram: “Unequivocally there is no headgear for Paul vs Tyson.

“Haters spreading fake news but it won’t stop the 10’s of millions of views.”

Anthony Morel: “The heavyweight that goes up fast

From the island of Réunion, 31-year-old Anthony Morel impresses with every bout in the cage.
After a perfect start to his career (3 wins), the Frenchman will be looking to continue his streak on
March 15, in Poitiers, at HEXAGONE MMA 15. This is his chance to establish himself as a serious
challenger for the organization’s heavyweight belt.

Having just passed his thirties, Anthony Morel began his career in mixed martial arts with the aim of
“enjoying himself as much as possible”. A good competitor, the Frenchman can’t deny the “dreams
of greatness” that creep into his mind as he tackles this new challenge. “Of course, I think about it! I
know that with heavyweights, everything can happen very quickly, much more so than in other
categories. “At the moment, I don’t have enough hindsight to announce high ambitions, so I’m
keeping my feet on the ground”. Yet there are plenty of reasons to believe. Crowned French
freestyle wrestling champion, French Greco-Roman wrestling vice-champion, and multiple grappling
medalist, Anthony Morel has a wealth of experience in grappling disciplines, which form an excellent
skill base. And given his first MMA victory, achieved with a reverse elbow strike, striking doesn’t
seem to be a major shortcoming either.

“I practice with the best on the island”.

Wrestling, ground and pound, boxing… The next logical step was obviously to get into the cage. This
transition to mixed martial arts has its roots on the Reunion’s Island, 10,000 kilometers from Paris,
where Anthony Morel was born, lives, and still trains, despite a much less developed infrastructure
than in the capital. “These aren’t famous gyms or big MMA clubs. But we have excellent wrestling,
floor, and boxing schools, so I practice with the best on the island in each discipline!” And even if
martial arts don’t yet represent a full-time job for him, Anthony Morel devotes himself to the sport,
aware of what it has brought him. “Sport has helped me enormously. Let’s just say that I wasn’t an
angel and that it helped me to improve my lifestyle, as well as my behavior. Today’s goals are
different, but highly challenging!”

‘I don’t think either of us know’, admits Conor McGregor on UFC future after ‘lack of transparency’ over return fight

CONOR McGREGOR has opened up on the “lack of transparency” surrounding his return fight with the UFC.

McGregor has been out since July 2021 when he brutally broke his leg in the first round against Dustin Poirier.

But the Irishman, who is fully recovered, has pleaded with the UFC to get his comeback signed and sealed.

He remains set to face American Michael Chandler, 37, but talks have continued to drag.

McGregor, 34, said: “We’ll still in the first quarter of this year, talks are ongoing it’s a little bit of lack of transparency.

“I’ve got two fights left on my contract, I don’t think either of us know what the move will be.

“I just wish to get a bit more consistency with my training. Am I flat out right now? No. But I have been.

“I was scheduling for early this year, I was scheduling for January, for December even before that.

“I had camps set up, I had a camp out in Cannes in the South of France. I had a camp in Dubai also, some world champions with me.

“I put in a solid camp and I was well ready and then you get lack of transparency, it’s like you’ve just got left unseen.”

McGregor has been promoting the release of his movie debut, starring alongside Hollywood superstar Jake Gyllenhaal in a Road House reboot.

And once his film obligations and St. Patricks day celebrations are over and done with, McGregor will aim for a June 29 return bout.

He said: “Then I start losing interest myself so I then get caught up in other things going on, like this and such.

“I hope just get this done, couple more days, the movie’s out what ten more days or a week.

“So once that’s done my work is finished then I’ve got Paddy’s festivities with Forged Irish Stout and the Proper 12 that I’ve got to handle.

“Once that’s then, I’m boxed away. I’m still in shape, I still train, like I said, I’ve had camps in the off so if they just give me a date I’d love to go June 29th and that will be an aim for me.”

Thomas Glot: The science of martial arts

Thoughtful and rigorous, Thomas Glot applies some of his engineering knowledge to
the martial arts. Bodybuilding, nutrition, sleep… Nothing is left to chance on the eve of
his next fight with HEXAGONE MMA, scheduled for March 15 2024, in Poitiers.
Thomas Glot sees sport as a real science. A graduate of an engineering school, he uses
some of the concepts he studied in school textbooks in his training. “I was taught to be
methodical and rigorous. For me, martial arts is a very big project in which you have to
manage every little detail. Bodybuilding, nutrition, sleep…” At just 22 years of age, the
Frenchman shows great commitment in his approach to combat sports, without losing his
lucidity. “I started MMA when I was 13, and very quickly I knew I wanted to do this for the
rest of my life. But I also realized that a fighter’s career was very risky, and that you shouldn’t
ignore your professional life.” Pragmatic, Thomas Glot has managed to combine his
beginnings in the cage with long studies, and can now devote more time to his sporting
progression.
“Very young, I discovered the top level”.
All in all, Thomas Glot’s career development is a model of its kind. Despite his young age,
the Frenchman demonstrates experience and maturity, two qualities he owes in part to his
time with the French MMA team. “Very young, I discovered the high level. Before turning
pro, I took part in the European and world amateur championships. It’s an extremely
instructive circuit, from which I’ve learnt a lot of good things.” Tested against the best,
Thomas Glot was able to compensate for his weaknesses, and today boasts a very all-round
style, which is his main strength. “The more I progress, the more I adjust the settings.
Wrestling, groundwork, boxing… In the cage, I want my opponent to feel in danger whatever
the field. I’m a true MMA fighter!

Joshua was razor sharp from the get-go, knocking down the former UFC champ in the first-round with a picture-perfect straight right hand.

AJ then floored the Cameroonian clubber with a thunderous right-hand and left-hook combo in the second.

And he shut his lights out with a hellacious overhand right a few seconds later.

Ngannou, 37, was tended to on the canvas before being helped to his feet.

And the Professional Fighters League pounder was subsequently given oxygen after being helped back to his corner.

Fight fans around the world were blown away by the KO, with one saying: “AJ showed him there are levels to boxing.”

Another said: “This Joshua will beat fury badly.”

And another said: “Yikes.”

One remarked: “Holy s**t.”

Another chimed in: “The speed and precision beats power.”

In his post-fight interview, Joshua said of the knockout: “It is what it is.”

He added: “On the route to the championship you should always stay focused and i had to step away from the mission

“I thought it was just a gimmick for the broadcasters.

“When I saw the fight with Tyson Fury I thought damn this guy can fight, I want a piece of that.

“I wanted to welcome him and this does not take anything away from him, he can come again.

“I am still learning and pushing, I don’t know if I am coming into my peak, if that was me down there you would be saying, ‘Anthony Joshua should retire’.

“In five years I will be finished fighting and sitting down and all this will be a distant memory.

“I am going to go back and lock myself in my cage and they can let me out when they want me to fight. I just want to fight.”
