Paul has been cleared to return after suffering a broken jaw in his defeat to Anthony Joshua last December.
The 29-year-old is now targeting December 24 for his next bout, with Dubai being considered as a possible location.
Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian is leading discussions with potential opponents and broadcasters.
Bidarian revealed that four names are currently being discussed, with former UFC star Till one of them.
“Darren Till is definitely one of the names that Jake put out there on his list and is definitely one of the names that we’ve been speaking to,” Bidarian said.
Till left the UFC in 2023 and has since competed in crossover boxing and bare-knuckle fighting, most recently beating Yoel Romero at BKFC 94.
However, the fight is far from confirmed, with the timing depending on how quickly Paul’s team can agree on an opponent and broadcast deal.
Bidarian added: “If we figure it out in the next 24 hours, we’ll hopefully get a fight in this year.
“But I can’t tell you today if it’s one or the other.”
A Christmas Eve event has long appealed to MVP, with Bidarian believing the date offers a rare opportunity to capture viewers who are at home during the holidays.
Former Paul opponent Tommy Fury is not among the names being considered.
