This Saturday, Athens will be the epicenter of kickboxing as King of Kings (KOK) rolls into town with an action-packed fight card featuring some of Europe’s top fighters. The event is expected to draw large crowds with its lineup of high-stakes bouts.
The main attraction is the lightweight duel between Greece’s own Meletis Kakoympavas, also known as “The Nightmare,” and Italy’s Badr Ghazy. Kakoympavas, a veteran with a solid reputation in the European kickboxing circuit, boasts a record filled with knockouts. Despite his lesser experience, Ghazy is determined to make a statement against the seasoned Greek fighter.
Another eagerly anticipated fight is the middleweight showdown between Giorgos Makrakis of Greece and Benjamin Poturak from Bosnia and Herzegovina. With his father being a former KOK champion, Poturak carries a legacy into the ring that adds an intriguing layer to the bout. Makrakis will look to use his home advantage to thwart the aspirations of the young challenger.
