NATE DIAZ has seemingly demanded his showdown with Jake Paul be moved – so he can keep smoking WEED.
The former UFC lightweight title challenger is set to face the YouTuber-turned-boxer in a Dallas dust-up on August 5.
Marijuana lover Diaz, however, will have to give up the devil’s lettuce in the weeks leading up to the fight or he’ll face a hefty punishment from the Texas Athletic Commission.
But after being denied a Therapeutic Use Exemption, the fan favourite is campaigning for the fight to be moved to accommodate his love of ganja.
Along with a GIF of Homer Simpson fading into a cloud of marijuana smoke, the Stockton slugger tweeted: “We gonna have to move states.”
Diaz’s legion of followers were quick to comment, with one saying: “True G.
“Moving states just so he could smoke weed be4 his fight.”
Another said: “No way weed is going to stop me from watching Nate Diaz fight are you serious?”
And another said: “Did you just find out about the Texas weed laws?”
One remarked: “I’m gonna assume the Paul-Diaz fight will not be in Texas.”
Another chimed in: “I said when it was announced there is no way this fight happens in Texas.”
Team Paul, however, are adamant they won’t move to fight to accommodate Diaz’s love of weed.
Paul’s manager – Nakisa Bidarian – tweeted through his management company: “Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz is in Dallas, Texas.
“Nothing is changing in terms of location/venue. Saturday, August 5, Paul vs. Diaz live on DAZN.”
Paul, meanwhile, will enter the clash on the back of a split-decision defeat in his February grudge match with Tommy Fury.
