Heavyweight great Lennox Lewis believes Tyson Fury holds the edge over Anthony Joshua if the long-awaited all-British showdown finally takes place.
Lewis admitted he feels both former world champions are no longer at the peak of their powers after years of delays prevented the blockbuster fight from happening sooner.
The last undisputed heavyweight champion from Britain pointed to Joshua’s recent comeback performance as a cause for concern after the former champion was knocked down before recovering to stop Kristian Prenga.
Lewis questioned whether Joshua is the same fighter he once was and suggested recent performances have shown signs of decline.
While Fury has also returned from retirement in recent months, Lewis believes the Gypsy King has looked the sharper of the two heavyweights heading into their proposed clash.
The boxing legend added that the fight has become more about business than sporting legacy, insisting it should have happened years ago when both men were at their best.
Although he expects a competitive contest, Lewis believes Fury’s recent form gives him the advantage if the pair finally share the ring later this year.
