Khamzat Chimaev has spoken out after suffering the first loss of his MMA career against Sean Strickland at UFC 328.
Strickland reclaimed the middleweight title with a split-decision victory after a hard-fought five-round battle, ending Chimaev’s reign as champion.
Although Chimaev left the cage without giving a post-fight interview, he later broke his silence on social media by hinting at a future rematch with his rival.
Dana White revealed the former champion also discussed the possibility of moving up in weight after the defeat, while praising him for battling through a difficult fight camp and weight cut.
The loss marked a major setback for Chimaev, but the UFC boss insisted he still expects the Chechen star to remain a major force in the sport.
