Eddie Hearn has struck back in his growing rivalry with Dana White by signing UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall to Matchroom’s talent agency.
The deal comes just weeks after Conor Benn ended a decade-long relationship with Matchroom to join Zuffa Boxing in a multi-million pound agreement. Hearn has now responded by bringing Aspinall on board to manage his commercial and business interests both inside and outside the octagon.
The signing follows Aspinall’s recent no-contest title defence against Ciryl Gane, which ended after a severe double eye poke that later required surgery.
Aspinall has since expressed frustration with how the situation was handled, saying fighters are often treated as replaceable in the sport’s business side.
With Hearn now representing the UFC champion in a commercial role, the move could force the rival promoters to work together despite their ongoing war of words.
