The former German world champion is set to make his comeback soon, live on PRIME FIGHT I FIGHT+ I DAZN. The goal is to fight for the world championship later this year.
For a long time, little was heard from former cruiserweight world champion Marco Huck (43–5–1), who has not stepped into the ring since June 2024. In recent years, things have generally gone quiet around the German boxing legend, who thrilled fans across Germany with spectacular fights around 10 to 15 years ago. Especially after his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in September 2017, Huck largely disappeared from the spotlight — but now he is looking to make one more push.
As was recently announced at short notice, a boxing event will take place on February 14 at the OWL Arena in Halle (NRW). This is the very venue where Huck first became WBO world champion in August 2009 — back then still known as the Gerry Weber Stadium. For Huck, this marks an emotional return to the place where his world championship journey began and is intended to serve as the starting point for a new chapter of sporting headlines.
Huck will fight on DAZN against the reigning Czech champion, Pejsar.
It came as quite a surprising and short-notice announcement that a major boxing event will take place on February 14. Meanwhile, Huck’s comeback opponent has also been confirmed: it will be Vaclav Pejsar (26–22). Pejsar became Czech cruiserweight champion last November after stopping Pavol Hrivnak (6–4) early. Overall, Pejsar does not appear to be a top-tier opponent on paper given his 22 losses; however, it must be taken into account that Huck has been inactive for a long time and, at 41 years of age, is no longer in his prime either.
On paper, Pejsar appears to be in solid shape and is known for his toughness. For example, he went the full ten-round distance with German-Turkish world-class fighter Hüseyin Cinkara (23–1), who is regarded as a powerful puncher. Pejsar is known for being hard to stop and for applying constant pressure. While he can be outboxed, Huck has never been a delicate technician — and that is unlikely to have suddenly changed in 2026. Therefore, fans in Halle can expect a stylistically interesting and entertaining fight that should offer plenty to boxing enthusiasts.
