Dana White: Jones vs Aspinall ‘Still the Fight We Want’

UFC president Dana White has pushed back against recent claims that Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall is officially set, calling such talk “bulls**t” unless it comes directly from the promotion.

Despite former title challenger Chael Sonnen stating a deal had been agreed, White insists no date has been finalized yet for the heavyweight title unification bout, which has been in discussion since November.

“Everything you hear is bulls**t until we say it,” White declared, reaffirming his intent: “That’s the fight we want to make this year. Still super confident it happens.”

The clash between reigning champ Jones and interim titleholder Aspinall is expected to be one of the biggest heavyweight bouts in UFC history.

White also confirmed another major fight for later in 2025: undefeated Khamzat Chimaev will challenge middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis, though not during International Fight Week.

Jones last fought in November with a KO win over Stipe Miocic, while Aspinall stopped Curtis Blaydes in just 60 seconds last July.
