Derek Chisora has declared that his next—and final—fight will be for a world title. The 41-year-old fan favorite was recently made the mandatory challenger for Daniel Dubois’ IBF heavyweight title after a hard-fought win over Otto Wallin in February.
Speaking to The Ring Magazine, Chisora made it clear: “I’m 50 and out, definitely. I have to. I can’t keep doing this. I’ve only got one more training camp in me. My final fight will be for the world title—it’s all or nothing, brother.”
Chisora has previously come up short in world title attempts, losing to Vitali Klitschko in 2012 and Tyson Fury in 2022. But winning a belt in his swansong would be a dream ending for the Zimbabwean-born Brit, who said even just competing for the title one last time would be enough: “I could retire on that, definitely. Just walk off into the sunset.”
Chisora hopes to face Dubois in a stadium showdown, with Wembley or Tottenham already in his sights. “I know for a fact I can sell out either venue,” he said, hinting at a summer bank holiday event. “Whatever happens, it’s going to be amazing.”
