MICHAEL BISPING was once hit so hard he had an out of body experience.
Bisping formerly held the UFC middleweight title and retired as one of the most celebrated British stars of all time.
And after 39 bouts in the cage, the Manchester hero has some memorable stories to tell.
Bisping was a guest on Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett Sky show Rob & Romesh vs UFC.
And he revealed how Chael Sonnen hit him so hard during their 2012 bout that he momentarily forgot where he was.
Bisping said: “He took me down, I was trying to get back to my feet. Bang. He hits me with a proper good shot.
“And I swear to God, this is not a joke. Momentarily, I was transported, I was in the middle of a field, on a bike, riding through a field on a bike with golden flowers everywhere.
“Then all of a sudden I come back to it and I’m like, ‘I’m in the f***ing octagon!’ Taking shots to the face.
“I’m like, ‘S***! Put me back in that field!'”
Bisping lost a controversial decision to Sonnen – after coming back down to earth.
In 2017, he knocked out Luke Rockhold on short notice to win the 185lb title before defending it against Dan Henderson.
Bisping lost the belt in 2018 to UFC icon Georges St-Pierre and retired a fight later after losing to Kelvin Gastelum.
The Brit, now 45, has since moved into commentary and punditry as well as hosting his own podcast.
