UFC fans concerned by unrecognisable MMA legend’s ‘unhealthy’ body transformation as he loses his once-huge muscles

UFC fans shared their concerns for Alistair Overeem after seeing his dramatic weight loss.

The 2010 K-1 Grand Prix winner sported one of the most muscle-bound physiques in MMA before failing a drugs test – in which he had a testosterone ratio a staggering 14 TIMES higher than normal – in 2012.

Overeem – who fought former WWE star Brock Lesnar in his UFC debut – trimmed down following his return to action 13 months later but still rocked a muscular frame, although most of it seems to have disappeared.

MMA fans were left stunned after seeing a photo of the 43-year-old – who was dubbed Ubereem when he was in his physical prime – with RIZIN CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara.

Several flocked to Twitter to voice their concerns, with one asking: “WTF is he okay!?”

Another said: “Oh nah I hope he’s okay.”

And another said: “Damn, man. I just hope he’s okay.”

One remarked: “I just really hope he’s healthy.”

Another chimed in: “This weight loss is not normal.”

Several fight fans, however, were unconcerned by Overeem’s trimmer frame, which they attributed to Father Time catching up with the former UFC heavyweight title challenger.

One said: “He’s in his forties. This is what he should look like if he’s healthy.”

Another said: “Whoever said he looks unhealthy is a moron.”

One chimed in: “Comparing his current physique with his Ubereem days is kinda unfair, don’t u think?”

Another remarked: “Reem is doing great. Look at those biceps. Just dropping a few pounds.”

Overeem was released from the UFC in March 2021 following a second-round TKO defeat to Alexander Volkov.

The Dutchman returned to the kickboxing world last October for a trilogy fight with former K-1 heavyweight champ Badr Hari at GLORY: Collision 4.

Overeem won the bout via decision, although it was overturned to a No Contest after it emerged he failed another drug test.

The Reem – who has yet to address his second career anti-doping violation – was slapped with a one-year suspension.
