UFC star Jorge Masvidal vows to ‘legally f***ing murder’ Colby Covington as he seeks revenge after bitter fallout

UFC star Jorge Masvidal has vowed to “legally murder” Colby Covington in the octagon as he seeks revenge against his bitter rival.

The pair fought at UFC 272 last March with Covington taking the victory via unanimous decision.

After the fight Masvidal added fuel to their rivalry by branding his nemesis a “coward”.

And a few weeks later the fighter allegedly assaulted Covington in a Miami steakhouse, leaving him with a chipped tooth and facial injuries.

Masvidal promised to do more damage next time they meet in the cage during a recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience MMA Show.

He said: “I didn’t get him that time [at UFC 272], but I promise you: Before my career’s over, I’m gonna f***ing murder Colby in the cage. Legally.

“Allegedly a lot of things happened [illegally]. I don’t know, they’re saying a lot of things, but it’s all allegedly.

“S***, man. I don’t know what they’re talking about, man. But legally, in the cage, in the UFC, I’m gonna f***ing snatch his soul one way or another.”

Masvidal is confident a rematch would play out very differently from their previous meeting, claiming he was nowhere near his best last time out.

He said: “It just wasn’t the best version of me. In this sport – it’s what I love about it – what happened happened, and everything else is bull, right?

“So, until we fight again, nobody will get to see that better version of me.

“But I promise you, before I close this chapter in my life in MMA, I will have competed against this guy and I’m gonna f***ing take his soul.

“I just know it after being those five rounds in there with him and that was the best that he had and I was nowhere near my best at that time for different reasons.

“I know I could f***ing end this guy.”
