KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV has vowed to destroy Jake Paul ‘in minutes’ as he laughed off the YouTuber’s offer to fight him in MMA.
The social media-turned-boxing star took his record to 5-0 in the ring last year and is now looking to get into the cage for the first time in 2022.
Nurmagomedov has welcomed Paul to fight for his promotion Eagle FC, saying previously: “The doors of Eagle Fight Club always open for you and your team.”
Bu the much-maligned fighter replied: “Deal. Only if I fight you first.”
And Nurmagomedov told the Full Send podcast: “Come on, come on Jake Paul, I don’t think so. In MMA, a couple of minutes.”
The retired UFC legend then appeared to point out a video of Paul getting choked out by AJ Agazarm in 2017.
He added: “What do you think? He can fight with me. He’s a little bit too late.
“I watch a sparring or some video were he did MMA with someone, he has to learn a lot.
“Boxing, he knows how to punch. His boxing game is not bad, but wrestling is completely different.
“If he wants to fight in MMA, we can give him chance. We can sign him [to Eagle FC] and we can pay him. We’ll see.”
‘The Eagle’ confirmed his retirement from Dana White’s UFC last year after sticking to a promise he made to his mother following the death of his father.
His last bout was a successful defence of his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje in October 2020 which left him with a record of 29-0.
He has now switched from fighting to promoting and coaching for his Eagle FC promotion.
