KOK Releases 2021 WGP Schedule!

The King of Kings organisation (KOK) has released its 2021 WGP schedule, with 11 events scheduled for the year in 10 different European countries, starting in February.

The schedule is tentative, and subject to coronavirus restrictions. KOK events are televised internationally on FightBox HD (available via Film Box Live) and streamed live and worldwide on KOK Fights TV.

The KOK WGP 2021 schedule begins with a return to the Polish capital of Warsaw in February. It will be a historic moment for the promotion-the first-ever KOK kickboxing event took place in Warsaw in November 2010.

In March, KOK is back in Helsinki, Finland for the third consecutive year. The Finnish fighters are emerging as some of the best in the KOK federation, and this year’s KOK World Series Helsinki could be the best yet.

KOK Finland boss Timo Tamminen informed Kickboxing Z he is hopeful KOK World Middleweight Champion Daniel “The Finnisher” Forsberg will defend his title at the event, and tentative plans are for featherweight champion Pok Bill and top contender Lauri “Pretty Boy” Suomela to also appear in separate title fights (depending on the coronavirus situation). Knockout sensation Abdifatah Khalif has also been mentioned to appear at the KOK World GP Helsinki 2021.

April sees KOK’s return to its home of the Siemens Arena in Vilnius, Lithuania. The Vilnius events are often KOK’s biggest, with roughly ten thousand fans in attendance to cheer on the fighters.

Hamburg, Germany is slated for May, and the KOK Summer Series heads home to Nicosia, Cyprus in June.

Another new destination is scheduled for July. KOK is holding its first event in Athens, Greece. The following month, the KOK World GP returns to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. KOK events in Bosnia are promoted by former world champion and Bosnian legend Dzevad “BH Machine” Poturak.

In September, UK fight fans will be able to watch KOK live and in-person. KOK previously held events in 2018 and 2019 at the historic York Hall in London.

It’s back to Tallin, Estonia in October. Estonia’s own Ott Remmers established himself as a welterweight contender by winning the four-man GP at this year’s Tallinn event.

KOK will return to Vilnius in November for another huge event. In December, the season concludes with an event in Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia.

KOK Turkey Series
The KOK World GP 2021 schedule does not include events taking place in Turkey.

The KOK Turkey Series events are organised in collaboration with top Turkish fighter and KOK Turkey representative Erkan Varol.

The first KOK Turkey Series 2021 event is scheduled for 5 February in the Black Sea city of Kaynasli. The ten-bout fight card is headlined by a title fight between Iranian standout Masoud Minaei and Sinan Cagala of Turkey.
